    We've still got a ways to go on our GoFundMe for the new album! With your help, we've been able to pay for every recording session so far. The rest of the goal is to pay for mixing and mastering the album and for cd production. I plan on going through a local company for cd duplication. Merch is something I've never really had, so I'd like to have something to hand to people at gigs, etc. Everyone who donates to the GoFundMe is guaranteed a cd and a free digital download of the album. I also have big dreams for music videos and other projects, so anything extra goes to that! I realize that times are hard and money is a difficult thing to ask for.     The new album will be called "Don't Need You to Love Me".

    I wrote the title track about moments where I struggled with loving myself and being enough for myself. These eight songs share that mood; all of them were written over the past 4 years in times where I felt disappointed and lost, and oddly yet still hopeful. There's plenty of my go-to themes such as nostalgia and cynicism disguised with sweetness, but there's also a cheekiness to some. I've never felt so empowered singing sad songs. This is the most I've "sang" on my own songs. This is the loudest I've been on my own songs. I am not loyal to any one genre on this record, but it's all still me. And as in real life, I'm at my best when my friends are at my side. Kat and the Hurricane are making these songs come alive better than I ever could have dreamed. We got started yesterday at Warm Glow Studios and I can't express to you the excitement I feel. I can't wait for you to hear it all.

    So, even though the album title may suggest I'm cool and aloof and independent...it's not really true.. I do appreciate your love very much! Let's do this thing!!

    This project was so much fun! The first time I heard Candace A. Griffin sing, I knew I had to record her. Her lyrics are smart and catchy and the way her vocals seem effortless just amazes me. And on top of that, she brought in the best backup band around in Kat and the Hurricane. We did things in the studio that I’ve never done in that space.
